As any local would know, Newsday is a leading source of Long Island news. Recently, CEO Mitch Maiman was featured in Newsday’s article LI CEOs cite hurdles but cautiously optimistic, polls find. The article discusses the results of a survey that was conducted to find out what several CEOs think about growing businesses on Long Island.

56 percent saying that the Island is either excellent or good as an “area where business can succeed”, while 42 percent said the region is fair or poor in this regard.
The survey was conducted from October to December 2015 by the Siena College Research Institute with a total of 248 CEOs included in the poll. The article continues:
More than 70 percent of the executives recognized the high cost of living, traffic congestion and lack of affordable housing as impediments to business success.
The executives said the area’s greatest strengths are its workforce and environment, with 62 percent and 52 percent, respectively, giving grades of excellent or good.
